Today I am 103-months old

Welcome to Summer!

So far, so good! We have been having a great time relaxing with family and friends.

We just returned from a “Tour of Texas” vacation. We started off in College Station where my mom went to school at Texas A&M. We visited the Bush Library, which was really interesting. I like history and both Cara and I were fascinated with the sections of the Berlin wall. The next day, I attended Texas A&M baseball camp with my lifetime friend, Chase Hodges. It was a great day and I got to be announced and hit on Olson Field. Following camp we went and saw the Heisman trophy and while we were there, head Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin walked by. It was cool to see him. We have been watching a lot of World Cup and we went to the Dixie Chicken to watch the USA game. That was awesome! We also visited the dorm room where mom lived. Cara kept asking if “Grandma lived there with her!” Next up, we headed to Brenham, TX where they make Blue Bell ice cream. We toured the facility and had ice cream at the end of the tour. We then made our way to Galveston for the next couple of days. We enjoyed hanging out at the beach, despite to large amount of seaweed, and swimming in the hotel pool. After leaving Galveston, we met up with our other lifetime friends, the Karlinski’s at their grandparents lake house on Lake Livingston. We enjoyed a boat ride and swimming in the lake. We participated in the 4th of July parade too! It was a great week, but it is always good to be home.

A couple weeks ago I attended Camp Invention, which is a science meets creativity camp. This week I am at UTD basketball camp with several of my best friends. I attended both of these camps last year and enjoyed them a lot. Cara is at “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” camp this week with her friend, Ruby.

We have enjoyed swimming in Grandma’s redone pool! It is so nice. We have had a couple “pool parties” as Cara likes to call them with our cousins. Grandma always makes sure we have a good time complete with “cold treats” every time.

I have been playing indoor flag football this summer with some kids from my baseball team. I have liked learning a new sport and bought some fancy new catching gloves. We continued our boys book club from last summer. We’ve done a lot of other fun things too - the movies, spending the night with Grandma, ice skating, visiting the Perot Museum, going to the pool with friends, and cooking. Cara attended an art class and we are both doing the summer reading program through the library. Mom has been teaching us to play cards - solitaire and 21 - and we learned how to play pool in College Station.

My dad is hosting an internet radio show for the next few months. His co-host is author and speaker, Ron Baker. The show is called The Soul of Enterprise. If you feel like checking it out, please click here.

That is all that is going on here! For now, so long from Allen, TX where the temperatures are headed to the hundreds! I hope your summer is full of cool treats and lots of good times.
